Watts, Hendon + Huckenstein Partnership To Create Downtown Legal Center

Watts Realty Co., Inc. announced today plans to renovate a 20,000 square foot office building located at 1820 7th Avenue North in Downtown Birmingham. Watts has partnered with Birmingham architect Hendon + Huckenstein and plans renovations to begin in early 2011 with completion in July of the same year. Watts will be exclusive property manager. Legal Services Alabama, a statewide, non-profit that provides pro-bono legal aid, will occupy approximately 10,000 square feet. The finished legal center will have available spaces ranging from approximately 500 to 3, 9035 square feet. Formerly a Courthouse making it an ideal location for the planned legal center. In 2009, Watts Realty co., Inc. and Hendon + Huckensten partnered to complete renovations to retail space in historic downtown Homewood. Watts Realty Co., Inc. signed $1.5 million in leases in a six-month period for the project. The project was also recognized in The Birmingham Business Journal Commercial Deals of the Year List in 2010, an annual list of Birmingham's most notable commercial real estate projects.
